- 3 cups powdered sugar (for decorating)
- Food coloring (red, blue, green, etc.)
- Royal icing (optional for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- Gradually blend the dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden. Allow to cool on a wire rack.
- Once cooled, use royal icing or a piping bag with a round tip to decorate cookies to resemble nursing hats, stethoscopes, or other nursing symbols.
- Allow the icing to set before serving.
Notes
- For a more personal touch, you can use cookie cutters in the shape of nursing symbols.
- Feel free to use sprinkles or edible glitter for additional decoration.
