- 1 cup Granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons Baking powder
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- ½ cup Unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large Eggs
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- ½ cup Milk
- 2 cups Your choice of frosting
- as desired Decorations (sprinkles, flowers, etc.)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a small cake pan (6-inch or 8-inch).
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In another large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, frost the cake with your choice of frosting.
- Decorate with sprinkles, edible flowers, or any other desired decorations.
