Ingredients

  • 2 racks of baby back ribs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium heat.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
  3. Rub the olive oil over the ribs, then season with the spice mixture on both sides.
  4. In a saucepan, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and chili powder. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until heated through.
  5. Place the ribs on the grill, bone side down. Cook for 2 hours, turning occasionally, until tender.
  6. During the last 30 minutes of cooking, brush the ribs with the BBQ sauce. Continue cooking until the sauce is caramelized and sticky.
  7. Remove from the grill, let rest for 10 minutes, then cut between the bones and serve.

Notes

  • For added flavor, marinate the ribs in the spice rub overnight.
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of brown sugar for sweetness.
  • If you don’t have a grill, you can bake the ribs in the oven at 300°F for 2.5 hours.
